Prayerline Update #3, 2011
Dear Camp Willow Run family, Greetings! Cradi here, and we are coming at you live from CWR GP5. Once again, we hope you’re doing well and have had an excellent 4th of July holiday. We have three weeks left and things are going great! Last week, our fourth week of General Public campers, was a fun and relaxing time with the high schoolers. High school weeks are always a unique change in the summer schedule and this one did not disappoint as we enjoyed a running skit (orchestrated by Andrew Crawley and Philip Riley) based on the comeback of Mario and Luigi, a camper versus staff volleyball game, a synchronized…

Prayerline Update #2, 2011
Dear Camp Willow Run family, Hello again from Craig and Madi (Cradi)! We hope this update finds you well and enjoying your summer. We sent our last update at the end of the DJJ week and now we are just wrapping up our third General Public week. It’s crazy to think that we are almost halfway through the summer! General Public week one, our first combo week (grades 3-5 and 6-8), was a time of great excitement for staff and campers alike. As all the counselors and support staff began to fit into their roles, the campers enjoyed everything from the climbing wall and sailing to low ropes and model…

Prayerline Update #1, 2011
Dear Camp Willow Run family, Hello from Craig and Madi! We are the Co-Head Counselors for the 2011 Camp Willow Run Summer Staff and we are so excited for this opportunity to share with you about the summer. It is a blessing to have such a large group of friends connected with CWR to join alongside us in prayer for all that will happen here in the upcoming season. On May 19th, forty-one staffers representing twenty different colleges joined at camp for staff training. The week provided valuable time for staff bonding and allowed for preparation for the summer as we participated in all the recreation activities, readied camp facilities,…

“Run the Race”
Summer 2011 will be here soon and we are getting ready for another exciting summer! We know that each week will be full of fun activities, delicious food, funny skits and music, and fellowship with friends. Once again we will have great speakers leading Bible study each day and a wonderful staff who are positive Christian role models. “Run the Race” is the 2011 summer theme. It is based off of Hebrews 12:1-2, “Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.” This summer, as we enjoy the many different aspects of a week at Camp Willow…

Registration Forms are Prepared!
Today we had one of our “CWR Mailing Parties.” About two dozen people from the community came out to help us prepare the summer registration forms. Over 7,500 registration forms were stuffed in envelopes and given stamps and mailing addresses. We would not be able to send all of these forms out without the help of our volunteers who help us with each of our major mailings. Thank you to all those who helped us!

You crossed my field and you left a mark…
Two weeks prior to the Mother Daughter Legacy Retreat I was told some troubling news…my mother had found a lump. It’s not something that you ever want to hear that anyone has but especially not your own mother. My daughter and I were to attend the retreat but I kept flip flopping the week before about going with no real reason why I didn’t want to go. I knew I was emotional and really didn’t want to cry in front of a bunch of strangers and didn’t want to seem happy when I was hurting inside. The morning of the retreat I was still not sure whether I was coming…
