Prayerline Update #3, 2011

Dear Camp Willow Run family,

Greetings! Cradi here, and we are coming at you live from CWR GP5. Once again, we hope you’re doing well and have had an excellent 4th of July holiday. We have three weeks left and things are going great!

Last week, our fourth week of General Public campers, was a fun and relaxing time with the high schoolers. High school weeks are always a unique change in the summer schedule and this one did not disappoint as we enjoyed a running skit (orchestrated by Andrew Crawley and Philip Riley) based on the comeback of Mario and Luigi, a camper versus staff volleyball game, a synchronized swimming routine choreographed by Lauren Schiavo, and the much welcomed later bedtime! The speaker, Josh Meadows of Charlotte, NC, encouraged everyone as he brought a lot of energy and passion for the Gospel and challenged both campers and staff with truth about how to live a Christ-centered life. We also had the privilege to hear the testimony of the Lord’s work in the life of Adam Whitehead. Overall, this week was truly a blessing!

The 7th-9th graders that have been at camp this week have brought great excitement that is so refreshing. The rain has not stopped everyone from having a great time in group games, at their recreation activities, and with their boxcar. We have had the pleasure to hear from Matt Rice, the Lead Pastor at The Creek Church in Cary, NC.  His love for the campers and the Lord provide an incredible picture of God’s love for us, and the kids are definitely learning and growing. Counselors Philip Riley and Tyler Hood both shared their testimonies and clearly expressed how the Lord has become the most important part of who they are. We are sad to see this week come to a close, but are excited for how evident God has been with this group.

Once again, please continue to pray for Camp Willow Run. Next week, 190+ 3rd-8th graders will be joining us.  Mrs. Harris will share about the life of David with the elementary schoolers, while former staffer Matt Windley speaks to the middle school kids.  He always shares Truth in a challenging and real way. Please pray for the week as well as for the two staff members, Beebo Nida and Jacob Diehl, who will be sharing their testimonies. The Lord has worked through the staff in great ways, but please continue to lift us up in prayer as the summer is winding down and we are getting more tired. Thank you for your continued support. We are so grateful for all of you!

By His grace and for His glory,

Craig & Madi
