  • Safety 1st Award

Camp Willow Run has once again received the Markel Safety 1st designation.  Michael Swain of Markel states, “Camps and clubs must meet stringent criteria to qualify for the Safety 1st designation.  They must have a proven safety record for at least three consecutive years, undergo formal assessments and inspections, and participate in continuing education and certification programs.  These facilities deserve to be recognized for keeping safety a top priority.”

  • Registration Forms are Prepared!

Today we had one of our “CWR Mailing Parties.”  About two dozen people from the community came out to help us prepare the summer registration forms.  Over 7,500 registration forms were stuffed in envelopes and given stamps and mailing addresses.  We would not be able to send all of these forms out without the help of our volunteers who help us with each of our major mailings. Thank you to all those who helped us!

  • Interior Work Continues…

Painting and sub-contractor work has continued in both dormitories.  The addition of counter tops, sinks, shower stalls, and toilets bring the two buildings closer and closer to completion. As this work continues, the YCFC Board of Directors is making plans for how to proceed with development of Phase One.

  • The 2010 Summer Staff Reunion

This past weekend we had a reunion weekend for the 2010 Summer Staff.  Most of the summer staff were able to come for a time of fellowship, camp food, and fun games.  The weekend is an excellent reminder of the Lord’s faithfulness as stories are shared about the 2010 summer. Each summer we see the Lord work in amazing ways to impact the lives of both campers and staff. We are grateful for the staff that the Lord puts together each summer.  Their dedication, hard work, and willingness to be used by the Lord is one of the main reasons that this ministry has had such a tremendous impact.
