• Closing Thoughts from the 2011 B*U*I*L*D Retreat

What a blessing for Camp Willow Run staff to serve over 220 boys and men for our 23rd annual B*U*I*L*D (father/son) Retreat last weekend. Despite a bit of bad weather, a great weekend was enjoyed by all. We praise God for His protection Saturday as some severe weather moved through our area. We appreciate all those who faithfully prayed for us this weekend. We did see God touch lives through the great teaching of God’s Word from Mike Avery and Brad Antill. Some of the favorite memories mentioned in the guest evaluations and comments…. the huge pin dodge game Saturday night, creating life maps, making smores at the outdoor chapel,…

  • BUILD Retreat this Weekend!

The 2011 BUILD Father/Son Retreat begins tomorrow!  We anticipate a wonderful weekend with the those that are coming.  Sadly our waiting list is long and we are not able to accommodate all the registrations.  Please pray for a weekend of encouragement, fellowship, and nourishment for the families the men and boys that will be here.

  • Challenge Course Safety Certification

Associate Director Jeremy Davis recently completed the Level II Full Challenge Course Practitioner Certification in compliance with the standards set forth by the Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT). This training, administered by Signature Research Inc, included facilitation and management practices, in addition to safety policies, on a wide range of challenge course elements. His certification demonstrates the commitment of Camp Willow Run to maintain a safe and enjoyable adventure recreation program while also staying current on industry standards and practices.

  • “Run the Race”

Summer 2011 will be here soon and we are getting ready for another exciting summer!  We know that each week will be full of fun activities, delicious food, funny skits and music, and fellowship with friends.  Once again we will have great speakers leading Bible study each day and a wonderful staff who are positive Christian role models. “Run the Race” is the 2011 summer theme.  It is based off of Hebrews 12:1-2, “Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.”  This summer, as we enjoy the many different aspects of a week at Camp Willow…

  • Our Children… A Treasure Beyond Measure!

Together, we make a difference in the lives of the children.  It is a partnership with an eternal investment.  Thousands of children have been spiritually nurtured and encouraged in their faith through involvement in Camp Willow Run’s summer and retreat programs.  Hundreds and hundreds of others missed that opportunity due to lack of space during summer sessions.  Weeks continue to have waiting lists. Working together, we are making a difference in the development of Camp Willow Springs.  Thanks to donors, two dorms are completed.  We need to continue construction of dorms and other Phase One facilities.  The two largest facilities need funding so that construction can begin this summer.  The…

  • 2011 Spring Super High Retreat Closing Thoughts

A great time was enjoyed by all during the annual Spring Super High Retreat last weekend.  Eleven churches from NC, VA, MD came together for an exciting weekend of challenging teaching, great food, and fun games.  Jamie Haigh, along with two of our staff members, led worship. Though the weather was chilly and gray on Saturday, God blessed us with a dry day until we completed the afternoon recreation. Below are some comments we gathered from the evaluations. We hope your church will join us this fall or next spring for a Super High Retreat. The remaining 2011 Super High Retreat weekends are: November 4-7 & November 11-13.  Contact our…
