Are you searching for an experience this summer that will be spiritually rewarding? Would you like to build one-on-one relationships with hundreds of young people? Do you have a passion to share the gospel of Jesus Christ and have an eternal impact on the lives of youth? Are you looking for a place where you can have fun all summer long?
If so, then Camp Willow Run is the place for you! During a summer at CWR you will have the opportunity to work with over 2,000 young people in grades 7-12 and to share with them our three-fold purpose:
-
- To win young people to Jesus Christ
- To mature those who are already Christians
- To show them you can be a Christian and have fun
Our summer staff consists of 42 college students who demonstrate a spiritual maturity that enables them to be positive Christian role models to our campers. They love the Lord, love serving young people, and love having fun! As a staff member, you will share the Gospel with young people and eternally impact their lives while also growing and being challenged spiritually yourself. You will develop life-long friendships with the campers and staff and on top of all that you even get paid! The summer staff experience is so rewarding that 45-60% of our staff return each summer.
Our staff is held to a very high standard both personally and professionally. Applicants must have completed their first year of college or be of equivalent age, must be a growing and committed Christian, must have a heart to serve, and must have a deep love and enjoyment of children and youth. Upon completing an application, the Summer Camp Director will contact you for a face-to-face interview at Camp Willow Run. Summer staff hiring decisions will be prayerfully and carefully considered, and applicants will typically be notified within 2-3 weeks of their interview. All summer staff members must be able to work the entire summer staff commitment of May 18 – August 3. This includes a one weeklong staff orientation and training before campers arrive at camp. During our summer camp program, we have a special session where we work with the NC Division of Juvenile Justice to provide a week of camp for campers in the NC DJJ Youth Development Centers. We also have general public sessions in which we work with middle and high school campers. Additional information regarding the nature and diversity of the total camp population is available upon request. Summer staff will also have the option to work additional weeks in August.
