  • 2013 SPRING MOTHER-DAUGHTER LEGACY RETREAT

    During the week-end of May 3-5, Camp Willow Run hosted our Spring Mother-Daughter LEGACY  Retreat (grades 1-6).  This unique and special retreat is designed especially for Moms and their girls in grades 1-6.   Scrumptious meals were served that moms did not have to plan, prepare or clean-up!  Choices of recreation were available for those who are more adventurous (high ropes, giant swing, climbing wall) and for those who are a tad bit more cautious (crafts, canoeing, archery, P&W dance, low ropes)….or prefer a blending of both!  Times of worship and looking into God’s Word were also uplifting and encouraging.  We studied the “Journey of Faith” (Genesis 24) undertaken by Abraham’s…

  • April 2013 Update

      There are two dormitories currently under construction.  Once complete, they will give us a total of four dormitories and will house a total of 80 campers. The meeting room is under construction.  This building is 4,608 square feet and will initially serve the dual role of a meeting space for music and Bible study as well as provide a space for our camp food service. Construction of the pool complex is to begin this May.  The swimming area will contain 5,198 square feet of water and will include three water slides.  It will be a central recreation feature at CWS.  We currently have received a matching gift opportunity of…

    David Kizziah and his bride Katie are honored to be entrusted with the stewardship of John David (5 yrs), Claire (3 yrs), and Karis (4 mos old). It is David’s greatest joy and most weighty responsibility to Shepherd these hearts and lead them to know and follow King Jesus. David also has the privilege of serving as Campus Pastor for Crossroads Church in Columbia, S.C.   • 2012 Safety 1st Award!

    Camp Willow Run has once again received the Markel Safety 1st designation.  Michael Swain of Markel states, “Camps and clubs must meet stringent criteria to qualify for the Safety 1st designation.  They must have a proven safety record for at least three consecutive years, undergo formal assessments and inspections, and participate in continuing education and certification programs.  These facilities deserve to be recognized for keeping safety a top priority.”

  • Meet our 2013 Spring Super High Retreat Speaker: Spence Shelton

    Spence Shelton is the Small Groups Pastor of the Summit Church, Raleigh-Durham, NC. Spence found the church as a college student 10 years ago and has been privileged to participate in the amazing movement of God taking place through Summit. Spence holds a BSBA from UNC- CH and an M.Div in Christian Ethics from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. God has given Spence a passion for leading the local church to live out its calling to be a gospel-driven, life-giving community. Spence teaches in local churches throughout the country.
