2013 Fall Legacy Write up and Pictures
Planning began months and months ago for our 22nd annual fall Mother and Daughter Retreat. This retreat is for moms and their girls in grade 6 – high school graduation (and beyond!). With growing excitement and anticipation, 160 participants arrived early Friday evening to begin their adventure together. From the first delicious meal on Friday evening to the closing time of worship on Sunday morning, everyone enjoyed a very special time together!
Our Speaker, Tara Furman, opened our week-end teaching sessions with the call to ‘Embrace God’s Design for My Life’, continuing on Saturday morning with ‘Choosing to Start in the Chair’.. a special place for a daily quiet time with God. By Saturday evening, we were ready to learn how to ‘Stand Firm’ by “guarding our heart” (Proverbs 4:23). The closing session on Sunday morning reminded us that through consistent, faithful times of prayer, we can and will impact our corner of the world in our generation. We do have a call on our life. Thank you, Tara, for leading these teaching moments with such insight, joy, and discerning knowledge that reached right into the hearts of girls and their moms!
We offer praise to God for each and every Mother and Daughter present, for our talented P&W music team, for the week-end staff who came to serve and lead recreation activities, for our dining hall team who served such delicious meals, for our full-time staff who love serving Jesus through Christian camping ministries, for God’s watchcare in all ways….and for the time to grow in our faith and fellowship together to God’s glory.
Go ahead and highlight October 3 – 5, 2014, for the next fall Mother-Daughter LEGACY retreat with middle school-high school daughters!
And Moms of daughters in grades 2-6 can highlight May 2 -4, 2014, for the Spring Mother-Daughter LEGACY retreat!
