December Update

A Word from our Executive Director

A painted ceramic tile made by our son, Thad, when he was in the 3rd grade has become the centerpiece of the fall decorations in our home. Thad is now 14 years old and in the 8th grade, but his tile (pictured) is a timeless treasure to us. Thad painted this fall scene and listed that he was thankful for God, Jesus, CWS, CWR, family, sports, and even Batman! What a sincere and simple reminder of giving thanks.

At CWS and CWR, we are thankful for summer campers and retreat guests. We are grateful for opportunities to share the Gospel and serve others. We love to see smiling, happy campers! In a year where we have been limited in our ability to serve campers and guests, we are excited for the day when both camps will once again be full of campers!

As we look to 2021, we are planning for our Mother & Daughter and Father & Son retreats in April and May. For summer camp, we are hopeful for a full summer of camp sessions. The health and safety of our campers and guests continue to be of utmost importance. As shown this year, we will adjust and adapt our schedule, capacity, and plans as needed.

In early October, I shared our budget shortfall for this year. Many of you generously responded to help toward meeting this need. While a large portion of the shortfall has been met, there is still a shortage of $22,000 for this year. Also, with the surging cases of COVID, we are currently projecting that the first quarter of 2021 will be financially challenging for camp as well. In my 26 years of service at camp, this is the first year we have ever had to ask for donations to help meet our annual operating budget. We are grateful for you partnering with us through your prayers and financial support. We have continued to see the Lord’s faithfulness as He has provided and met every need!

As you prayerfully consider your end of year giving, we once again humbly ask you to consider a financial gift to help sustain this ministry through this year and into 2021. If you are in a position to support camp financially and feel led to do so, your gift will be greatly appreciated. Donations are tax deductible and can be made online at www.youthcampsforchrist.org or mailed to YCFC at 190 Mangum Lane, Littleton, NC 27850.

We pray for safety and good health for you and your family.  Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

2021 & COVID-19

This newsletter reflects our planned schedule for 2021. While we understand that there is still some uncertainty about what shape 2021 may need to take in light of COVID-19, we are moving forward with the above summer and retreat schedules. As in 2020, we will adjust as needed to make sure we can offer a safe experience that is compliant with all local, state, and federal regulations.

Registration is tentatively scheduled for February 1. We will send notice of any changes to this plan by email and on our YCFC| CWS & CWR: COVID-19 Updates page for CWS and CWR.
