A Camp Need and a Request for Support

Hello Camp Family:

Thank you for your support of this ministry through the years by attending summer camp or a retreat, serving on summer staff, or giving financially. This year has been unlike any year we have ever experienced both in our personal lives and in the life of camp. The COVID-19 pandemic has substantially impacted camp and we want to share our need with you.

This year, we will have a budget shortfall as our operating revenues will be down 62%. This is a result of the spring retreat season being canceled due to COVID-19. Summer camp, which is our primary source of revenue, operated at less than 50% capacity for less than 50% of the summer. The fall retreat season has seen the majority of groups cancel as a result of the continued spread of the coronavirus. To help with the shortfall, all expenses have been evaluated and all future ministry development projects have been postponed.

A highlight of this year is that we were blessed to be able to open for five weeks of summer camp at both CWS & CWR while operating within local, state, and federal health guidelines. One camper family shared the following:

The lengths that your staff went through to make this summer camp happen, is unbelievable. Even with all of the “chaos” of the pandemic, communication was exceptional. Even though the week was shortened, my camper said it was probably the best week she had ever had at camp. THANK YOU to all of you for making this summer happen!

We are grateful for each and every opportunity to serve campers and retreat guests and to be able to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. What a joy it is to serve others! During this uncertain time at camp, unlike any we have faced before, we have continued to see the Lord’s faithfulness as He has provided and met every need!

We humbly ask that you prayerfully consider a donation to help sustain this ministry through this year. With the impact of the coronavirus, we know there are many different needs and many people and organizations facing challenges. If you are in a position to financially support camp and feel led to do so, your gift will be greatly appreciated. Donations are tax deductible and can be made online or mailed to YCFC at 190 Mangum Lane, Littleton, NC 27850.

Thank you for your support. We pray for safety and good health for you and your family during this time.

Sincerely,

Robbie Harris
Executive Director
